The purpose of studying the academic discipline is: to prepare students to independently solve professional tasks in the field of engine engineering in accordance with the requirements of the professional qualification characteristics. Namely, to study the structure and calculation of individual internal combustion engine systems.

 The subject of study of the academic discipline is a system of concepts about the principles of operation, processes and phenomena that accompany the operation of auto-tractor engine systems and determine their consumer qualities.

The main objectives of studying the academic discipline are: to form in students a complex of knowledge, skills, abilities and ideas necessary for solving professional tasks related to substantiating the choice of engine system components, their main indicators and characteristics at the stage of developing the technical task, design project and proposal, taking into account the customer's requirements and modern trends.
