Research Techniques

The course "Research Techniques" is intended for applicants of specialty 192 "Construction and civil engineering". The course is designed for applicants who are studying at the second (master's) level educational and professional program "Roads and Airfields".

 The main elements of the technology of conducting scientific research in the field of highway construction and operation are revealed in the course.

 The purpose of the course is the formation of self-study skills in students of higher education based on the acquisition of knowledge in the field of theory and methodology of conducting scientific research, research skills and the ability to organize scientific research and conduct experiments with the production of improved or new theoretical and methodological knowledge in the field of highway construction and operation.

 After completing the course, applicants will acquire practical skills and abilities: apply basic methods and approaches to solving professional non-typical problems in the field of search, design, construction and operation of road construction objects that often arise in modern conditions; draw up a report on research work and publish the results of theoretical and experimental research in compliance with the requirements of modern scientific society, including academic integrity; to know the rules of writing and preparing theses of reports and scientific articles.

The main attention is paid to the following topics: methodological foundations of scientific research; technology of scientific research organization; the principles of building a technological map of scientific research, planning, preparing and conducting an experiment, and design and publication of the results of the conducted scientific research.
