Topic: Purpose, general structure and principle of operation of cooling and lubrication systems.
The goal is to learn the ways of supplying lubricant to parts that are lubricated under pressure, splashing, and gravity; to know how lubricant is cleaned, cooled, and pressure regulated in modern internal combustion engines; to understand how the engine's thermal regime affects its power, efficiency, and durability; and to understand how fluid circulates in the cooling system when the thermostat valve is closed and open.
