    The role and place of ATMS to increase the efficiency and safety of road traffic.

    • TOPIC 2. PRINCIPAL SCHEMES OF TRAFFIC CONTROL: CLOSED, OPEN AND FEEDBACK SCHEME (12 hours)

      Implementation of management schemes. Peculiarities of traffic as an object of management. Traffic stability. Stochasticity of traffic. Incomplete controllability. Formation of a closed traffic control system. Formation of an open traffic management system. Effectiveness of traffic management feedback. Traffic flow parameters that determine traffic stability. Traffic flow parameters that determine the stochasticity of traffic. Determination of incomplete controllability in traffic.

      • TOPIC 3. MEANS OF ASSESSMENT OF LOADING AND TRAFFIC MODES ON THE STREET AND ROAD NETWORK (10 hours)

        Purpose of statistical data in the management process. Forecasting methods in traffic management. Determination of modes of movement of motor vehicles on the street and road network; Methods of assessing the loading of the street and road network; Collection of raw data for traffic management; Methods of predicting changes in traffic parameters.

        • TOPIC 4. CLASSIFICATION OF ATMS BY MANAGEMENT METHODS: MANAGEMENT METHODS IN REAL TIME AND OUTSIDE OF IT, MANAGEMENT METHODS IN SPACE (6 hours)

          Description of existing generations of ATMS. Traffic management methods: local methods, district methods, system methods, adaptive methods. Principles of coordinated traffic management on city highways. Determination of parameters of controlling influences. Requirements and conditions for the organization of coordinated management. Methods of traffic management in real time (on-line); Off-line traffic management methods; Methods of traffic management on the network; Governing influences in local management methods; Formation of system traffic management; Principles of coordinated management on the highway; Advantages of coordinated traffic management.

          • TOPIC 5. ATMS SUBSYSTEMS AND THEIR PURPOSES: TECHNICAL, MATHEMATICAL, SOFTWARE, INFORMATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL (8 hours)

            ATMS functions: control, informational, auxiliary. Peculiarities of ATMS structures are decentralized, centralized and hierarchical when performing management functions. Advantages and disadvantages. Comparative analysis. Composition of the technical subsystem of ATMS ; Executive and measuring devices ATMS; Composition of the ATMS mathematical subsystem; Designation of informational and organizational subsystems; Composition of management functions; Composition of auxiliary functions. Decentralized structure, centralized structure and hierarchical structure of ATMS. Comparative analysis of ATMS structures.

            • TOPIC 6. CRITERIA FOR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY (6 hours)

              Technical criteria of management, social criteria of management, ecological criteria of management, economic criteria of management. Technical criteria of traffic management efficiency; Social criteria of traffic management efficiency; Environmental criteria for the effectiveness of traffic management; Economic criteria of traffic management efficiency.
